Islamic Prayer Bead Types

About the four general categories of Islamic Prayer beads that we offer.

The most expensive are on the left. And the biggest sellers are on the right.

If you watch the video on the right you can see more detailed information about the most often sold Islamic prayer bead.

If you are a re-seller, do not miss the opportunity to increase your sales by offering the products that are most often sold. Watch the video on the right.

All products that we offer are made from genuine Baltic Amber and have no additives, bonding agents or colorants. They are all made from natural Baltic Amber stones. They do not contain grains or meals.

The difference between them is the method by which the beads are formed. Information about that is below the pictures.

Please also note that it is very difficult to distinguish beads that are pressed from a single stone of amber and those that are hand carved from a single stone of amber. Perhaps the first indication of authentic, hand carved beads is price. If they are not expensive, they are probably not hand carved.

Also be careful to be sure that the basic product is Natural Baltic amber and not copal.

In short, deal only with people who can show you more than one product form so you can compare.

And don't disregard the people who can't afford the most expensive hand carved prayer beads. Test by buying one of the low cost, reconstructied prayer beads. For Complete Information, Click Here.

Beads used are classified in accordance with the classification guide below.

The Commission of Experts of the International Amber Association of Poland, have developed principles of classification of Amber gemstones. Those classifications are as follows.

Natural Baltic amber (Succinite) – gemstone which has undergone mechanical treatment only (for instance: grinding, cutting, turning or polishing) without any change to its natural properties. Look at examples at Beads Hand Carved From One Stone

Modified Baltic amber (Succinite) – gemstone subjected only to thermal or high-pressure treatment, which changed its physical properties, including the degree of transparency and color, or shaped under similar conditions out of one nugget, previously cut to the required size. Look at examples at Amber Beads Formed From One Stone

Reconstructed (pressed) Baltic amber (Succinite) – gemstone made of Baltic amber pieces pressed in high temperature and under high pressure without additional components. Look at examples at Amber Beads Made From Two Stones

Bonded Baltic amber (Succinite) (doublet, triplet) – gemstone consisting of two or more parts of natural, modified or reconstructed Baltic amber bonded together with the use of the smallest possible amount of a binding agent necessary to join the pieces. International jewelry and gemology organizations recommend providing customers with exhaustive information on the gemstone modifications applied.

The classification of Baltic amber gemstones was adopted by the Board of the International Amber Association on December 2011, 1999, as amended. Last amended on December 02, 2011.

Discussion about Islamic prayer beads

Due to the high prices of Amber, there is a great deal of fraud in the market. Many manufacturers are offering prayer beads made of copal or synthetics. Other manufacturers sell modified Amber as natural Baltic Amber.

Some re sellers buy modified Amber and sell it as natural Baltic Amber.

In general to protect yourself, it is best to know your supplier.

Furthermore it is best not to rely on pictures. The best way to check quality and marketability is to buy one each of the four classes of prayer being shown above, hold them in your hand and analyze them yourself and check the marketability of each by presenting them to people around you.

We also recommend that you offer your customers a choice. Not everyone can afford the most expensive prayer beads. And sometimes they would like an expensive prayer bead as well as a less expensive prayer bead in the for themselves, for a student, or someone else in their family.
