The designation PX29 was applied in 1945 to the original design of the engine which was orginally designed WP29 (type Vilnius).
Warsaw Construction Joint Stock Company Locomotive,WP29, was commissioned by the Ministry of Transport. It was named Vilnius. The first copy was produced in the second half of 1929 .
This locomotive proved to be a successful design. It was well-liked because of its ease of use.
21 units were built, most ot which were for 750 mm track.
The locomotive could haul a train with a weight of 300 t at a speed of 25 km / h. It could maneuver on curves with a radius of 35 m.
